By opening or using hudhud, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, don't use the app — and let us know why, because we'd genuinely like to hear it.
These terms apply to the hudhud web app, future mobile apps, and this website. "hudhud," "we," "us," and "our" refer to the developers and operators of hudhud.
hudhud is free to use for personal, non-commercial purposes. You may:

Everything you log in hudhud — entries, notes, photos, species lists — belongs to you. We claim no ownership over your journal content.
If you use cloud backup, you grant us a limited, technical license to store and transmit your encrypted data on your behalf. We cannot read that data (see our Privacy Policy for details). This license ends when you delete your account or backup.
You're responsible for the content you create. Don't use the journal to store anything unlawful.
hudhud works without an account by default. If you create one for cloud backup or sync:
We work hard to keep hudhud reliable, but we can't promise it will always be available. We may update, change, or discontinue features at any time.
If we ever decide to shut down the app entirely, we will give at least 90 days' notice and provide a clear data export path. Your journal is yours; we won't leave you stranded.
We may update these terms from time to time. We'll notify you in the app when we do, and the updated date at the top of this page will reflect the change. Continued use after notice constitutes acceptance.
The hudhud app, its design, code, and brand are owned by us and protected by copyright. The name "hudhud" and our logo are our trademarks.
You may not use our brand, design, or code to create a competing product or to misrepresent an affiliation with us.
hudhud is provided "as is," without warranty of any kind. We're a small team building something we care about, not a corporation with a legal army.
We are not liable for any loss of data, missed feedings, or harm arising from your use of the app. To the extent permitted by law, our total liability to you for any claim arising from use of hudhud is limited to the amount you paid us — which, for most users, is nothing.
Some jurisdictions don't allow these limitations, so they may not apply to you in full.
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any dispute arising from these terms will be resolved in the courts of San Francisco County, California.
